About HaulPro: Based in the United Kingdom, HaulPro Limited offers thorough compliance services in conjunction with their committed team of developers and client account managers.
The Challenge:
HaulPro wanted us to develop an Android friendly mobile app that brings convenience to all the drivers throughout the transport industry to keep their vehicles compliant. Apart from having a great UX and UI, the app should have the following features:
- Let the whole vehicle compliance process go paperless.
- Enable drivers to carry out a daily checklist for the vehicle as well as various compliances, write down observations, and identify any flaws.
- Enhance the coordination between the transport manager and the driver.
- Enabling drivers/vehicle owners to create notes, plan the next test or check and securely store them on the app.
The Analysis:
Our team of dynamic mobile app developers at AFOM based on the discussions and understanding of the requirements with the HaulPro team, decided to go ahead in the following direction:
- We identified the best tech stack available to develop a strong Android app with a top-notch UI and UX.
- We carefully researched the flow of vehicle compliance in order to digitize the process and go completely paperless.
- Keeping in mind the target audience, our app should keep screen fatigue to a minimum.
The Solution:
- We designed the app to carry out a daily checklist for the vehicle, which involves noting various compliances, noting problems, and writing observations.
- For improved coordination between the transport manager and driver, we set up an email notification containing precise location information after the checklist had been completed.
- To keep screen fatigue to a minimum, we decided to keep loud colour templates at bay and consider only a minimalist theme throughout for the app.
- By creating numerous folders and uploading the contents, the driver can arrange the vital papers, such as photographs, word documents, and pdf files.
- In the private cloud, the files are kept and safeguarded.
- We embedded a built-in planner for drivers to note down upcoming vehicle inspections, MOT dates, mechanic appointments, etc.
- All this was executed utilizing the most prominent programming language (Swift) for this app and tech stack for hosting (Amazon S3), backend development (Laravel), quality control (Swift), database management (My SQL), payment solution (Braintree), UX (Javascript).
The Final Result:
